FACILITIES

The Plumas-Eureka Ski Bowl is a community oriented ski area with a base elevation of 5500 feet raising to 6150 feet for 650 feet maximum vertical. The area is in a climatic snow belt receiving an average of 220 inches of snowfall annually.

Beginner to advanced runs are reached via Squaw Poma with 650 feet vertical and Rainbow Poma with 350 feet vertical. The majority of the runs are intermediate in difficulty.

A rustic warming hut is reached by walking up the hill from the parking lot. Inside, skiers will find a warm fire, storage lockers, restrooms, and food service. A school sponsored ski program is operated at the area on Saturdays. The majority of the skiers at the area are alpine style downhillers. Somewhat reminiscent of Johnsvilles historic freeheel long board skiing past, Nordic telemark skiers are commonly seen and are welcome on the hill. Snowboarders are also becoming regulars.
